How To -Taylor Swift Curls

A question i hear regularily..


I have naturally curly hair, why doesnt mine look like Taylor Swifts?

I'm sorry your hair doesn't do that naturally! Wouldn't that just be fantastic if it did? Unfortunately theres nothing i can do to make your hair look that with an air dry.......
However this look is achievable by almost anyone.
You need:

• a heat activated texturizing spray
• a 3/4 inch - 1 inch curling wand (no clamp, however achivable with a clamp if you dont have a curling tong)
• a clip or hair tie to section your hair out of the way

Your hair should 100% dry before you start using hot tools
TIP: if you have very straight hair - slight wavy naturally i would recommend letting your hair air dry. As you blow dry it smoothes out the cuticle and can make curling/ waving your hair more difficult
if you have wavy - curly hair you can blowdry your hair beforehand

Starting in the back, at the nape of your neck, section out all your hair except the bottom inch.
Working in 1" x 1" sections, prep each section with texturizing spray
Hold your curling wand vertical (if your using a curling iron with a clamp hold the clamp open as your wrap)
Wrap your hair around the wand (your ends should be closest to the floor)
Hold for 20 - 30 seconds
Let go of the hair and move on to the next section repeating these steps until you have curled all your hair
Once you have completely curling your hair, gently rake a tail comb (or dull pointed object) through your hair seperating some of the curls. Add hairspray and shine spay (focusing on the ends... no one likes greasy looking roots)

Tip: If you're wondering weather or not people have naturally curly hair, if all the curls are exactly the same size & sit the same way it is VERY likely they used a curling iron
